Reviews:

Written by Rebecca Heller and illustrated by Suzie Mason, this compact little book is an excellent introduction to one of the most amazing members of the animal kingdom. A story for very young readers, it is told with very simple, basic sentences. Each sentence is just the subject (elephant) and the verb (what the elephant does). Children can relate to these simple activities, as they do the same things (for the most part) as part of their daily routine. This simple fact helps young readers feel a connection with the subject matter of this book: elephants.Reader’s Favorite

There are even more sweet and quiet scenes of elephant life: the elephant calf hugging other elephants with its trunk, showing love to its doting mother, and even romping with other elephants in a game of twig-tag. This serene little book is full-to-bursting with scenes that very young children will identify with…Use this book to talk about animals in the wild, how elephants and their families are a lot like humans, and why all of God’s creatures deserve to live free.Picture Book Depot
