Written by Rebecca Heller and illustrated by Suzie Mason, this compact little book is an excellent introduction to one of the most amazing members of the animal kingdom. A story for very young readers, it is told with very simple, basic sentences. Each sentence is just the subject (elephant) and the verb (what the elephant does). Children can relate to these simple activities, as they do the same things (for the most part) as part of their daily routine.
